Ladies, how well can you dance? If you have a vibrant personality, skills on the dance floor, and great school spirit, then you should try-out for the Rock-ettes dance team (the winners of last year's IPS/Bands of America competition!) There will be a mandatory workshop for any girl interested on Monday, September 24, from 2:45 till 4:15 pm. Workshop participants will meet on the 2nd floor, above grand central. Hey BRHS!! Are you ready to get an early start on the class competition for Homecoming Week?? The Junior class is sponsoring a Penny War. Beginning Monday, Sept. 24, during lunch mods, students can contribute pennies to their class's jar for positive points. Students in other classes may put silver coins or dollar bills in jars to contribute negative points. The competition will last through October 5 ... and winners will be announced that afternoon. Show your class spirit ... bring in those pennies for positive points for your class!!

And speaking of Homecoming - Student Council members who are available today after school should meet in Room H119. We'll be making and posting flyers, etc. Also, anyone interested in auditioning for Pep Rally emcees should report to H119 after school today for auditions. Court nomination forms will be available beginning mod 4 lunch and can be picked up in H119. Remember, court candidates must be sponsored by a recognized club, organization, or athletic team and meet the minimum standards for candidates. Sign up for Powder Puff football outside Coach Fields' room. Keep listening to the announcements and watch for postings regarding other homecoming events. Thanks to all for your support and assistance.

It's time to submit your 2 - 3 minute poetry or prose pieces for our "Day in the Life" performance. This year's performance will be in the mini-auditorium on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13. Submit your pieces - typed and double spaced - to Mrs. DeBruicker in H119 no later than Friday, September 28. No late submissions will be accepted. This is not a slam or a competition, this is a performance. Hope you'll submit you best creative pieces - looking forward to another excellent event featuring the finest writers in the building.
