In light of the petition submitted by students, Mr. Allen has agreed to approve the following dress days for spirit week: Tomorrow, Tuesday - paint your face or wear a wig; Wednesday - mix and match your shoes and socks; and Thursday, crazy glasses day. Friday remains as announced, black and orange MAXX day.
Today is "Show Your Spirit Day." Beginning at 2:45, decorate your hallway, doorway, maybe even a little sidewalk chalk art on the back walkways or parking lot.. Winners will be announced during the pep rally and at halftime of the game. Students and faculty members are invited and encouraged to participate! Council members who would like to stay today and assist should report to Room H119 after school. Other homecoming activities this week include the Rocket Blast-Off Choral Concert tomorrow night at 7pm - admission $2; Wednesday's Powder Puff Football preliminary rounds on the field after school; Clash of the Classes Field Day on Thursday after school on the field - $1 entry/admission fee per person, and Friday's pep rally, parade, game and dance. Tickets to the dance are $4 and advance purchase student tickets to the game are $3 - or you can buy both for $6. NO TICKETS TO THE DANCE WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR!
ATTENTION: School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, October 3, during your English classes. Teachers, you will receive a schedule tomorrow confirming the appropriate time slot. If you teach Language Arts and have not yet received communication from me, please e-mail asap with the number of students in each of your English classes, excluding seniors.
Anyone interested in playing baseball for the Rockets should plan to attend a meeting TODAY, immediately after school. See Coach Berry in the gym if you have any questions. Again, baseball meeting today.
Senior and sophomore girls who signed up for Powder Puff Football will practice today immediately after school. Please bring workout clothes and be ready to work. This practice is MANDATORY - everybody, and that means everybody, be at the Compton Street doors before 2:45. Thank you!
Attention Rocket Women: The Women's Fitness Club is holding its first meeting today in Room C146 immediately after school. Snacks will be provided and students may ride home on the activities bus. All Lady Rockets are invited! See Ms. Pattee with any questions.
Folks, we have a new leader in the penny war!! The class of 2010 has pulled into the lead with positive 191 points. Following behind them is the class of 2009 with negative 257, the class of 2008 with negative 259, and in last place ... the class of 2011 with negative 591 points. Penny War ends Friday. Support your class and bring in your pennies for positive points!!
