Parents, if your student didn't participate in a fall sport, encourage them to participate in a winter or spring sport!
Burger King has scholars awards $1000.00 for seniors. 2.5 or above. Must be submitted on line at .bk.com/scholars apply between Oct.15-Feb 15th.
Indiana University East has its first high school writing contest for seniors. Deadline November 1st.
Manual Adult Evening School 2nd Chance Program Classes begin Oct 22nd.
Ball State Department of Art Open House and Portfolio Review on March 1, 2008.
Free local college tours. Sponsored by T.O.P. Information in student services. (2nd flr by main staircase, where counseling, social workers, college bound, school psychologist, mental health, and Parole officers are)
Recruiting of freshmen for IUPUI Upward Bound has begun. Upward Bound provides additional support during the school year and summer for students. To qualify for the program the student must receive free or reduced lunch, have a strong desire to attend college, show a need for academic support, and the parent with whom the child resides has not received a baccalaureate degree. Please have your child leave their name with Ms. Kurtz or Mrs. Saxhaug if you are interested. You will be contacted at a later date regarding a parent/student meeting. Deadline to turn in names is Wednesday October 24.
