EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COUNT but it won't overcome a mediocre academic record. : Recommendations : Junior year... meet with your counselor annually. Keep up your grades. Take the ACT and/or SAT in spring. Develop a list of colleges to visit. Investigate scholarships. Volunteer for activities/clubs within your career interest. Get a part-time job or apprenticeship or internship in your field of interest. : Senior year...sign up for ACT if you didn't take it as a junior or if you want to improve your score. Meet with your counselor to make sure you WILL graduate and fulfill college requirements; ask for references from teachers, counselors and/or employers at least 2 wks before a deadline; applications!!; start financial aid process-DO IT!
