Click for Ponsettia Sale Order Form Dear Broad Ripple Families Welcome to Broad Ripple High School. There are several ways to become an involved Rocket! The PTA functions as a communication tool for parents through almost-daily emails to parents, sharing the afternoon announcements that are made at school, current BRHS and/or IPS news. By providing your email you can keep up with the daily goings-on at school. Your student might even come home and ask YOU about afternoon announcements! For the last few years we have hosted three fund raisers - Zoo Books, Poinsettias and/or Spring Bedding Plants. With profits from these we have funded one meal a year for building staff, senior scholarships to students NOT receiving other funds and/or educational student trips or opportunities. Or here's an idea - a simple donation of only $2 per student would totally cover all these items and even give us room to consider other suggestions! Other ways you can be involved BRHS Rocket Moms, chair Sharon Mack. Sharon coordinates monthly volunteer days. Come for a couple hours in the morning or afternoon. Read to/with students; tutor a particular subject; help in the library; put up a bulletin board display for a faculty member. You might find you want to volunteer even more than that "once a month" designated day! BRHS ABC (Athletic Booster Club), chair Diane Kovacevic IPS does not cover total funding for athletic teams. By selling concessions we raise money to help with items like uniforms, equipment, meals when on the road, etc. Diane offers "team" opportunities for Chatard home games (they rent our field) - a team covers concessions, a deposit is made directly into your team account and you get to keep whatever tips you make that night. At a recent football game, the volleyball team made over a HUNDRED DOLLARS IN TIPS! Represent BRHS at Dr. White's PAC (parent advisory council) meetings, 5:30-7:30 Oct. 30, Jan. 22, Mar. 19, and May 14 So, send your email to juli@iquest.net if you'd like to Juli Van Wyk |
