1 tube (8 oz.) crescent rolls
24 minature smoked sausage
1/2 cup butter/margarine (melted)
1/2 chopped pecans
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons brown sugar
Unroll crescent dough and cut each roll into 3 pieces, place a sausage
on each strip and roll up tightly and seal edge. Combine melted marg.,
pecans, brown sugar and honey in bottom of 11 X 7 X 2 inch pan. Arrange
sausage rolls on top of this mixture with sealed side down. Bake,
uncovered at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Yield 2
dozen.
I have baked these the night before, refrigerated them and then heated
them up in a microwave the next morning and they are fine. These can be
made in a 13 X 9 pan using the same amount of butter mixture but
increasing the number of rolls to 36 by using a can and a half of
crescents and 36 sausages. This is the way I made them for the staff
but I have found that the butter mixture is plenty for the additional
number.
Enjoy!
